A progress report is sent home at mid-quarter if your child is performing below “C level” work or if your child is not progressing as the teacher believes he or she should. Parents are asked to sign these and return them to the classroom teacher. Progress reports serve as notice to parents that greater attention to their child’s work is needed in order to avoid a poor grade on the quarterly report card. The dates progress reports are to be sent home are listed on the school calendar.
Report cards give parents feedback on your child’s performance at the end of each quarter. Parents receive the first grade card at Parent/Teacher conferences the end of October or first week of November.
EXTRA CREDIT: Because grades are based on the content of our curriculum, extra credit projects will not be assigned to improve a child’s grades on regularly assigned work.
STANDARDIZED TESTING:FBCA students take the Stanford Achievement Test each spring. Results are sent home to parents and become a part of your child’s permanent record. Scores give parents a measure of children’s achievement compared to the national average.
